CORE STRUGGLES ADDRESSED

Breastfeeding Should Be Comforting, Not Restrictive

If you are experiencing any of these common struggles, this course is tailored for you:

🩸

"Severe nipple pain and skin bleeding"

Learn the **Jaw-Orientation mapping** to release pressure from cracked spots, and the soft-palate placement technique to prevent friction wounds.

🍼

"Baby prefers bottle, fights the breast"

Babies do not reject breasts; they reject the slow flow or the pain of a shallow latch. Our **7-Day weaning protocol** resolves this gently.

🤱

"Severe back and shoulder strain while feeding"

Master **Laid-back (biological) nursing** and pillow-leveraging to support your baby without using neck or shoulder muscles.

Ergonomic Breastfeeding Position Guide

Select a position below to view physical alignment markers, support structures, and hand placements:

Laid-back Breastfeeding (Semi-Reclined)

🌟 Recommended for nipple pain, overactive letdown, or latch-shy babies.

1. Mother's position: Recline comfortably on pillows at a 30 - 45 degree angle. Gravity naturally keeps baby close to your chest without strain.
2. Baby's position: Placed belly-down on your body (vertical or diagonal), chin buried deep into the breast.
3. Contact: Baby's full body contact stimulates neonatal reflexes, encouraging wide gapes and natural latching.
🤱
💡 Pain Relief Key:

Keeps your shoulders fully relaxed. Gravity aligns baby's jaw to the lower areola, aiming the nipple into the soft palate for immediate pain relief.

Cross-Cradle Hold

🌟 Best for small infants, newborns, or babies requiring close guidance.

1. Hand support: Use the arm opposite the nursing breast to support baby's neck (e.g., nurse on the right side, support neck with left hand).
2. Head control: Rest thumb and fingers behind baby's ears to guide neck tilt. Avoid pushing the crown of the head.
3. Shaping: Use your free hand to shape the breast (Hamburger hold) parallel to baby's lips.
👶
💡 Pain Relief Key:

Gives you full control of baby's neck tilt to achieve a deep lower-jaw anchor, ensuring an asymmetric deep latch under direct vision.

Football Hold (Clutch Hold)

🌟 Recommended for C-section recovery, larger breasts, or flat/retracted nipples.

1. Baby's position: Position baby's body tucked under your arm, feet pointing towards your back.
2. Support: Support baby's body on a firm cushion at nipple height, guiding their head with your palm.
3. Advantage: Keeps baby's weight off C-section scars and allows clear view of the latching process.
🏉
💡 Pain Relief Key:

Perfect for modifying the jaw angle. If you have cracked wounds on the lower nipple, shifting to the football hold redirects the jaw pressure, letting the wound heal.

Side-Lying Position

🌟 Best for night feedings or maternal rest and recovery.

1. Mother's position: Lie on your side with a pillow supporting your head.
2. Baby's position: Baby lies on their side facing you (tummy-to-tummy), nose aligned with your nipple.
3. Safety: Support baby's back with a small cushion to prevent rolling. Keep their nose fully unobstructed.
🛌
💡 Pain Relief Key:

Allows complete neck and spine relaxation. Ensure baby is brought close to the breast so they do not stretch their neck and create a shallow latch.

LESSON 1.1

Shallow latch mechanics & nipple soreness

🎙️ Instructor Script Preview:

"Welcome, mothers. Nipple soreness and cracked skin are caused 100% by a shallow latch. Many people advise lanolin creams or shield barriers, but those are temporary. Anatomically, baby's mouth has two regions. The front is the hard palate – made of rigid bone. The back is the soft palate – soft and muscular. A shallow latch means your nipple is squeezed against the hard bone by the gums. Our goal is to bring the nipple deep past this bone, resting it comfortably against the soft palate cushion..."

💬 Action Script:
If baby is nibbling on the tip and you feel sharp pain:
"Gently slide your clean pinky finger into the corner of baby's mouth to break the vacuum suction. Slowly lift them off. Never pull baby off directly. Then, stroke baby's chin down to encourage wide opening, and retry with the Nose-to-Nipple positioning."
🛠️ Practice Step:

Wash your finger and slide it along the roof of your own mouth to feel where the hard bone ends and the soft palate begins. This helps you understand the pain-free target zone.
